Arran Steen
“Every image is different and dictates how many sittings
are necessary, however, 3-6 sittings of around 1-3 hours are usually
sufficient. I arrange an initial meeting with the sitter where
composition, setting and the overall feel of the image will be
discussed so that all parties are aware of will be expected to
create the finished piece. After this, subsequent meetings will
be the actual sittings for the work. I leave framing to the discretion
of the sitter, although I am happy to offer advice on the matter.”
Since graduating from Kingston University with a degree in illustration,
Arran Steen has exhibited once at the National Portrait Gallery’s
BP Awards and completed a notable portrait of Neil Macgregor,
Director of the National Gallery.
