Barbara Rehg
arbara Rehg received her BA in Fine Arts from Webster College
in St. Louis, MO. During the years of raising children and working
with her husband, Mike, in their printing company, Barbara stayed
in touch with her art working in graphic arts and architectural
pen and ink renderings.
Some years ago she was able to finally give her art total focus.
Deanna Sirlin, Skip Lawrence and Carla House are some of the instructors
who have guided and encouraged her over the years.
Her media of choice has from her college days been with watercolor
based paint. Having been trained traditionally in drawing during
her school years, she finds that aspect of her art always finds
ways to leave traces in her work. Exploration with watercolor
over the years has led to a non- traditional way of utilizing
the paint, however. From transparent glazes to rich opaque passages,
Barbara works to create images that allow the paint to be used
with its full range of possibilities.
Barbara is a member of the Women’s Caucus for Art, Georgia
Chapter and currently serve as the Secretary and Vice President.
